HD Set Top Box FAQS
Q: Why must I now lease an HD set-top box from Cox Fredericksburg rather than purchase my own? A: Cox Fredericksburg responded to customer feedback, which indicated that HD subscribers prefer the convenience of leasing an HD set-top box monthly to purchasing one at a substantial expense. Q: Can I install my HD set-top box myself? A: Yes, self-installation instructions are included in the HDTV Kit that is provided with the HD set-top box. Q: What if my HD set top box stops working? A: Please contact our customer care department at 540.373.6343 for assistance. Q: Am I required to subscribe to other Cox services in order to receive HD programming? A: Cox offers the high definition signal of FOX, NBC, CBS, NBC Universal HDTV & ABC in your local network area at no additional charge. Customers must subscribe to Expanded service to receive at no additional charge ESPN HD, Discovery HD Theatre, INHD1 & INHD2 in high definition. Customers wishing to receive HBO HD, Starz! HD or Showtime HD must subscribe to limited basic, digital gateway and HBO and/or Starz! and/or Showtime. To access all available HD channels, certain levels of cable, digital cable and/or premium services (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz) are required. Cox Basic Service only required for local HD channels. An HDTV receiver or CableCARD and an HDTV set with YPbPr inputs that supports a 1080i HD signal is required. Some televisions and other consumer owned devices equipped with a CableCARD may require a digital set top receiver in order to receive all programming options offered by Cox Digital Cable. |
